A dike near the German village of Rosenburg broke early on Sunday flooding three villages in the area.
Large parts of eastern Germany along the rivers Saale and Elbe flooded after extended periods of heavy rain.
Now there are mandatory evacuations under way. And its not just for people.
Tens of thousands have been forced to leave. Over the last week at least a dozen people have been killed as floods hit Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic.
A suburb of Budapest is under water after the Danube broke its banks — and the water is still rising.
People are doing what they can to stop the water.
Streets have become rivers.
"It's very hard to live under these circumstances, but we must remain calm and defend our houses."
Water levels are expected to recede next week — but authorities warn it will come at a very slow pace..
